After spending most of the 2012 season filling in for the injured Scott Rolen, the Reds have "penciled in" Todd Frazier as their starting third baseman for next season.
Rolen is expected to either retire or sign elsewhere.
"Right now, Frazier would be penciled in as our third baseman next year," Walt Jocketty said.
He hit .273 with 19 homers and an .829 OPS in 128 games as a 26-year-old rookie.
