Kansas City Royals first baseman Mike Sweeney, who has missed the past four games with a sprained left wrist and elbow, had a setback while taking practice swings and hitting off a tee Sunday.
"It didn't feel as good as I thought it would or hoped it would," Sweeney said. "We'll see how it feels tomorrow. It wasn't really encouraging."
Sweeney said he received a cortisone shot Sunday.
"Hopefully it will help out," he said. "Between the medicine and the treatment I've been getting from the trainers, hopefully I'll feel a lot better tomorrow."
