Andy Pettitte will take the mound for the Yankees in Game 1 of the ALCS against the Tigers.

Just a few hours before the series opened, Joe Girardi revealed how his rotation would look after the left-hander.

Hiroki Kuroda will start Game 2 and be followed by Phil Hughes and CC Sabathia.

It was thought that Sabathia, who pitched a complete game in a decisive Game 5 win over the Orioles on Friday night, might go in Game 3 on short rest. Kuroda will start Game 2 on just three days' rest.

The Yankees likely wanted Kuroda to pitch at home, where he has had more success.
