Adrian Beltre dealt with intense stomach pain this week, something doctors attributed to scar tissue buildup from a botched appendectomy 11 years ago.

The procedure led to an infection and an open wound that required a second surgery to fix two months later.

Beltre expressed confidence that if the pain returns, he would be able to play through the postseason before undergoing corrective surgery.
