The Yankees have coughed up a 10-game lead in the American League East, but Joe Girardi's job is not in jeopardy.

"No," Brian Cashman said when asked if Girardi's job is on the line as New York fights for a playoff berth.

Cashman was asked, "In your mind, he'll be the manager [next year] regardless of what happens [this season]?"

"Yup," he replied.

The Yankees entered action on Sunday with a one-game lead over the Orioles in the division.
