Angels star pitcher Jered Weaver will miss Friday's start against the Tigers with shoulder tendonitis, the team announced.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia said before Wednesday's series finale against the A's that Weaver was back in the Los Angeles area to have his arm checked by Dr. Lewis Yocum.
