According to two National League sources, the Marlins have contacted the Nationals about acquiring Alfonso Soriano. It is believed the Marlins are willing to part with some upper level pitching prospects including Yusmeiro Petit, Renyel Pinto and Jason Vargas to land the five-time All-Star and make a late run at the wild card.
