The Diamondbacks are not actively shopping Justin Upton leading up to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. However, that doesn't mean they aren't listening to offers for the talented outfielder. "My job is to try to make this club better," general manager Kevin Towers said. "We're not out shopping him by any means. Clubs have asked; I've said, 'Hey, tell me what you would do.' We could either say yes or say no." Rival scouts and officials acknowledge that Upton's down year could hurt his value, but they doubt Arizona will have much trouble getting a fair return. "He probably doesn't have as much value as he did last year," a talent evaluator with an American League team said. "But if enough teams are involved, they'll probably get what they want."
