Dmitri Young was activated from the disabled list on Friday. He had left the Detroit Tigers on May 22 to undergo treatment for substance abuse at a California rehab center.
"I had drug and alcohol problems, and (Tigers president) Dave Dombrowski allowed me to go to Promises Malibu and deal with them," Young said before Detroit's game against Oakland. "It's a great day -- getting back is what I've been waiting for."
