Shea Hillenbrand, the Blue Jays' DH who was designated for assignment Wednesday after a blowup with manager John Gibbons, is likely to be traded to the Dodgers or Padres. The Angels are also interested in Hillenbrand and General Manager Bill Stoneman spent a fair amount of Thursday investigating the circumstances surrounding the Toronto infielder's falling out with the Blue Jays. Hillenbrand isn't expected to clear waivers if he isn't dealt, which means the Yankees won't get a shot at him. They could view Hillenbrand as a better first-base option than Andy Phillips.
