Andrew Bailey called his recent thumb injury, and subsequent surgery, very frustrating. The right-hander had surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb and there is no timetable when he'll be able to return. "The doctor said the surgery went well and we didn't have to reconstruct anything, it was the ligament that was already in there, so that's a good sign," he said. "I went through the phases of being frustrated and pissed off, but I've come to the realization that it is what it is and I've got to deal with it. I can't pitch with it, so I've got to get it fixed and move forward." Bailey is scheduled to wear a soft cast for the next 10 to 14 days. "I will be able to make it back this year and the whole season is not lost," Bailey said. "There's a lot of good in that, but it's still very frustrating having to start the season this way. Hopefully all these injuries are behind me and I'll keep moving forward. All I can do is keep pushing forward, take care of business, get back out there and be ready to rock when the body is ready to go."
