The Dodgers topped the Padres 5-3 on Thursday, but left-hander Clayton Kershaw only managed to pitch three innings. Kershaw left early because of a stomach flu. He allowed two hits, struck out three and singled off San Diego's Edinson Volquez for his team's first hit of the season. Don Mattingly said he saw Kershaw lying down in the tunnel behind the dugout after the third. "It's not a real good sign when your starting pitcher was laying down," Mattingly said.
