Philadelphia lefty Randy Wolf may need Tommy John surgery after an MRI exam revealed ligament damage in his pitching elbow. Wolf was examined Tuesday by team physician Michael Ciccotti, who recommended the operation. The pitcher will seek a second opinion when he visits Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., and Dr. Lewis Yocum in California later this week. Wolf was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday and underwent an MRI exam after feeling soreness in the same elbow that sidelined him two months last season. After starting 1-4, Wolf has won five straight decisions. The seven-year veteran is 6-4 with a 4.39 ERA this season.
