Kendrys Morales took batting practice last week and was watched by Angels assistant general manager Scott Servais. Morales, who missed the last 1 1/2 seasons with a broken left ankle, has been taking batting practice from both sides of the plate, as well as throwing and working on creating more range of motion in his ankle and foot area. "It looks pretty good to me," Servais said of Morales' swing. "I'm cautiously optimistic that he's going to be able to get into a bunch of Spring Training games and get some timing together. Obviously, he hasn't played in a while, so it's going to take him a while to get the bat going, but I'm very optimistic about his chances to contribute to our club this year."
