Brett Tomko outpitched Mark Redman for the second time in 10 days and Omar Vizquel hit an RBI double to give him an 11-game hitting streak, leading the San Francisco Giants over the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 on Monday night.
Tomko (3-4) pitched his second complete game in three starts, retiring the final 21 batters he faced to finish with a six-hitter in a game that was over in 1 hour, 49 minutes -- the Giants' fastest game since a 1:43 game at Philadelphia on May 2, 1981.
San Francisco swept a three-game series in Pittsburgh from April 29-May 1, with the first two games being decided by one run.
