Rockies pitcher Drew Pomeranz pitched five shutout innings in his Major League debut on Sunday, earning a win as Colorado beat Cincinnati 4-1.
Pomeranz was a key piece in the deal that sent ace Ubaldo Jimenez to Cleveland at the trade deadline.
He allowed just two singles in the outing.
The left-hander threw only 63 pitches before leaving in the fifth. He is three weeks removed from an emergency appendectomy and is still building up his arm strength.
