Red Sox right-hander Josh Beckett left Monday's game against the Blue Jays with a sprained right ankle.
The injury forced Beckett, who had pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts, to leave in the fourth inning.
Beckett appeared to have caught his right foot on the area just in front of the pitching rubber when delivering a pitch to Blue Jays rookie Brett Lawrie.
He will return to Boston on Tuesday to see a doctor about the ankle.
