If the Yankees are going to acquire Rockies right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez, they'll likely have to give up four top prospects.
Colorado suggested to New York in conversations over the weekend that they want a package that could include catcher Jesus Montero plus pitchers Manuel Banuelos, Dellin Betances and Ivan Nova, according to sources.
Rockies general manager Dan O'Dowd has said that it would take a huge deal to part with Jimenez.
The Yankees countered by suggesting they'd probably be willing to surrender Montero and some other prospects but not any of those three pitchers.
"The Rockies absolutely will not make a deal where Montero is the centerpiece," one person connected to Colorado said.
