Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter will not come off the disabled list on Wednesday when he is eligible to do so. The development puts his status for this weekend's Subway Series at Citi Field in doubt. Jeter, on the disabled list with a strained right calf, took batting practice, grounders and ran on Monday at the Yankees' complex in Tampa. "Absolutely," general manager Brian Cashman said when asked if the Yankees were being cautious with Jeter. "That's the route we've taken so far and it's the right one. It's certainly going to be longer than we hoped. "It's going to take as long as it takes. We just don't want it to take any longer than it needs to take."
