Tigers starter Justin Verlander tossed a two-hit shutout as the team defeated the Indians 4-0 on Tuesday night.
Verlander took a no-hitter into the eighth inning.
His fastball was approaching 100 mph and his knee-buckling breaking pitches were about 20 mph slower.
"It's kind of tough on hitters when I can change speeds, elevation and do what I want to do," Verlander said.
He had a season-high 12 strikeouts. He walked one, hit a batter with a pitch and has won six straight decisions.
Verlander no-hit the Blue Jays last month in Toronto.
