Working through the night, state lawmakers gave final approval early Sunday to a financing plan for an open-air stadium for the Minnesota Twins.
The $522 million ballpark, which would be paid for mostly by taxpayers, was approved 71-61 in the House and 34-32 in the Senate.
"We've come away from this place with so many defeats," said Jerry Bell, president of Twins Sports, Inc. "It's hard to believe."
