The Twins have the worst record in all of baseball and are more than 12 games out of first place in the American League Central, but general manager Bill Smith says it's too early to talk about breaking the team apart. "Listen, the Twins have been counted out many times before," he said. Minnesota has dealt with injuries to stars like Joe Mauer and Jim Thome. "These last few weeks have been tough on everybody in the organization - the manager, the players, the front office and the fans," Smith said. "But we've been down many times before. "There's no question we need to start winning games down on the field. It's an organization-wide thing; we all have to do better. We need to do well on this road trip."
