Kansas City great George Brett shot down any speculation that he might be interested in becoming the club's next general manager. ?I?d never do it,? Brett said by phone. ?Personally, I think it?s one of the two worst jobs in baseball. That and being a hitting coach. "Every time a hitter comes back after making an out,? Brett said, ?he?s in a panic, and you?ve got to fix whatever?s wrong for every guy. No, thanks. I wouldn?t want that.? Back to the GM job: Brett doesn?t see the glamour in it. ?I guess it would be fun to make trades and sign free agents and all that,? he said. ?But then you get second-guessed on every single move. Everybody thinks they can do that job, but it?s tough.?
