Mets third baseman David Wright has struggled on the team's recent home stand, but he won't blame his back discomfort for the slump.
"There's a difference between being banged up and being hurt," he said.
Wright is just 3-for-16 on the home stand.
"I do believe it has something to do with it," manager Terry Collins said. "But David Wright will never make it as an excuse ... I happen to think there's got to be something, because this guy is just too good a hitter to run through the streak he's going through."
