Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton has been swinging a fungo bat for three straight days and hasn't had any pain.
He said he hopes to return to the lineup in "two to three weeks."
Hamilton went on the disabled list April 13 after sliding head first into home plate in Detroit and sustaining a hairline fracture in a bone in his upper arm. The original timetable for his absence was six to eight weeks.
The slugger said he took 125 swings Friday afternoon, some off the tee one-handed with his back hand and then front hand and some using both hands as assistant hitting coach Johnny Narron tossed balls at him.
"I haven't had any pain," Hamilton said. "Each day I come back, I want to be sore from doing exercises and things like that with no pain and that's what it's been so far. All my strength's back."
