Phillies second baseman Chase Utley continues to make gradual progress with his painful right knee. There is no timetable for Utley's return. Philadelphia fist base coach Sam Perlozzo has been assigned with keeping an eye on Utley during his workouts. "One day you think he's close," Perlozzo said, as his voice trailed off. Utley has gone from not running to running, and that was the biggest step yet. But the repetitions increase gradually. "I'm hopeful," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said of the second baseman returning by June. "I don't know if it's going to happen, but I'm hopeful. I can only hope."
