The White Sox luck with avoiding the injury bug this season might be over as star pitcher Jose Contreras may be headed for the disabled list because of a hip problem. Contreras, who is scheduled to pitch Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels, threw without problems in his normal side session Saturday but experienced pain after throwing briefly Sunday, MLB.com reported Monday night. Pitching coach Don Cooper said Contreras was in discomfort walking from the field. "It would be a minor miracle if he could start on his day, based on how I saw him walking around on Sunday,'' Cooper told MLB.com.
