Doctors are examining an MRI of reliever Joba Chamberlain's left oblique to determine if the injury he sustained last week is more severe than originally thought. The Yankees originally listed Chamberlain as day-to-day. "He's been asymptomatic," manager Joe Girardi said. Chamberlain isn't pitching as the Yankees determine if it is anything more serious than a slight strain. The reliever, who reported to spring training heavy, had been productive in five appearances.
