Michael Young doesn't want to serve as a designated hitter and told the Rangers last week that he wants to be traded, according to a source. He has made other moves to accommodate the team, moving from second base to shortstop for Alfonso Soriano in 2004 and from short to third base for Elvis Andrus in 2009. The six-time All-Star has spent all 11 of his seasons in Texas. Young's desire to be traded was first reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
