Kazuo Matsui has signed a contract with the Rakuten Eagles of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan, effectively ending his seven-year stint in the Major Leagues, the Associated Press reported on Thursday.
Matsui was released by the Astros on May 24th and finished the 2010 season in Colorado's minor league system.
