The Los Angeles Dodgers have denied the Jays request to interview Tim Wallach for their vacant manager position. Wallach was considered an early favorite for the position. Wallach, who played for the Montreal Expos for 13 seasons, has been a manager in the Dodgers minor-league system for the past four years, the last two at Triple A Albuquerque. Although Wallach recently interviewed with the Milwaukee Brewers, the report indicates the Jays were denied permission to talk to him because his contract allows him to interview with only certain teams.
