Tim Wakefield will pitch in 2011, but it will likely be his final season. "It's been very frustrating, hard to swallow at times," said Wakefield after the opener of the twin bill. "I've done whatever they asked me to do without complaining too much. But it is what it is, and it was what it was. All I can do is prepare myself for next year and whatever role it might be. I haven't been told or know what's going to happen next year, so we'll see what happens." His contract expires after the 2011 season. He is unsure how the Red Sox plan on using him next year. "The season's over tomorrow, and I'm definitely going to take a break and then see what happens," Wakefield said. "I think it will be easier for me, knowing that it's probably going to be my last year."
