Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard injured his left ankle on Sunday against the Nationals. He left the game having suffered the injury while scrambling back to second base after a throw from Washington right fielder Michael Morse. Howard had to be helped off the field by manager Charlie Manuel and a team trainer.
