Three members of the Los Angeles Dodgers have been disciplined as a result of incidents that occurred in the club?s game against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement. Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw has received a five-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for intentionally throwing at San Francisco?s Aaron Rowand in the top of the seventh inning. Kershaw has chosen to file an appeal; thus, his suspension will be held in abeyance until the process is complete. Dodgers manager Joe Torre has received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for the intentional actions of Kershaw after a warning had been issued during the bottom of the fifth inning. Torre is scheduled to serve his suspension tonight, when the Dodgers are to conclude their series with the Giants. Dodgers bench coach Bob Schaefer has received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for his inappropriate actions, which included coming on to the field, during the bottom of the sixth inning. Schaefer is scheduled to serve his suspension on Thursday, when the Dodgers are to host the New York Mets at Dodger Stadium.
