Miguel Cabrera's agents were in camp Friday. They departed without a deal in place for their client. Since Cabrera has less than three years of major league service time and is not arbitration-eligible, he is subject to the Marlins' pay scale. Most teams have one in place for such players, although the Marlins' table is widely regarded among the least generous. Based on his service time and other performance-based accomplishments, Cabrera is believed to have received an offer between $440,000-$450,000. At most, that's an $80,000 raise after a season in which Cabrera established career bests in average (.323), hits (198), doubles (43) and RBI (116).
