Ted Lilly's ailing right knee was cleared and the Cubs' left-hander was back throwing on a practice field Friday.
An MRI performed Thursday on Lilly's knee showed only normal wear and tear, according to Cubs assistant general manager Randy Bush.
"I think I stretched out a little more today than I have," Lilly said. "I'm still expecting to try and catch up with the rest of the guys."
