The Red Sox continue to decline comment on any and all matters regarding Roger Clemens, and the chance of the seven-time Cy Young Award winner returning to Boston still appear remote. Co-owner Tom Werner, who is reportedly overseeing the production of a recruitment video that will be sent to Clemens, issued a brief ?no comment? on the matter yesterday. President Larry Lucchino followed suit, saying ?we will have no comment on questions relating to Roger.? Clemens? agents, Alan and Randy Hendricks, once again did not return phone messages. They?ve told many this winter that it?s unlikely that Clemens, 43, will play for anyone other than the Houston Astros this season, if he plays at all. Clemens plans to pitch for the United States in the World Baseball Classic next month and indicated he?ll make a decision on his future after that. Clemens, who is tied for first with Cy Young on the Red Sox? all-time wins list (192), also is being wooed by the Texas Rangers and Yankees. After paying him $18 million in 2005, Houston declined to offer him arbitration, meaning Clemens can?t re-sign with the organization until May 1, which, given his age, appears OK with him.
