Dan Uggla doesn't want to leave the Marlins, but with a trade appearing likely he just wants the saga to end. "I'm sure everybody knows I want to be a Marlin next year, but it's not anything I have any control over," he said in a phone interview with the Palm Beach Post. "If something is going to happen, I kind of hope it happens sooner rather than later because everybody has been asking me. I go to the grocery store or I'm out running errands and I run into somebody I know. A lot of people have been curious." The second baseman is expected to be one of the most talked about players at baseball's annual winter meetings, which will begin Monday in Indianapolis. "It's a fun but kind of a nervous time for me just because you don't know what's going to happen," said Uggla.
