The Giants broke a four-game losing streak with a victory over the Washington Nationals in 13 innings on a rain soaked Sunday afternoon in San Francisco.
Omar Vizquel drove in Jason Ellison in the 13th inning.
``With a runner at second, I wanted to get a hit and win the game,'' Vizquel said. ``I was obviously trying to hit it to right field to advance the runner. It was a big win, especially the way we've been playing lately. We haven't been getting the breaks.''
Jason Christiansen (2-0) pitched 1 1-3 innings for the win.
Kirk Rueter gave up just 2 earned runs over seven innings of play.
