Fernando Rodney of the Detroit Tigers has received a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for his inappropriate actions following the conclusion of his Club's Friday, September 4th game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement. Unless appealed, Rodney is scheduled to begin serving his suspension during tonight's game against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Field in Kansas City. If appealed, Rodney's suspension will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
