The Cardinals are increasing their efforts to acquire Athletics outfielder Matt Holliday, according to a number of sources. St. Louis wasn't willing to part with a multi-player package to get Holliday from Colorado last November, but they are now open to giving Oakland a similar package. The package would probably include right fielder Ryan Ludwick and either reliever Jason Motte, Chris Perez or Kyle McClellan, plus a minor-league prospect.
