The Cubs activated Rich Harden from the disabled list on Saturday, and promptly started him against the Twins.
Harden, who is 4-2 with a 4.74 ERA, had not pitched since May 17 because of a midback strain.
He went six innings against Minnesota, throwing 92 pitches and striking out nine batters. Harden allowed five hits, walked two and allowed two runs in Chicago's 2-0 loss.
