Chris Carpenter is headed to the disabled list, and Cardinals manager Tony La Russa says that the pitcher will be "out for awhile." Carpenter was removed from Tuesday's game after throwing his warmup pitches prior to the fourth inning, and was immediately diagnosed with a strained rib-cage muscle. "The most important thing is that Chris Carpenter got hurt," La Russa said. "No matter what happens in the game, the most important thing is it looks like he?s going to be out for awhile. That kind of overwhelms everything else that happened in the game."
