In his first start of 2009, David Price struck out four and gave up two earned runs in 3.2 innings. Price scattered four hits (one a homer) and walked two. Price was a candidate for Tampa Bay's fifth slot in the rotation, but the Rays hope he can develop more consistency with his secondary pitches. Price was the number one overall pick in the 2007 MLB Draft and he recorded the ALCS clinching save in the 2008 playoffs.
