The Phillies and Greg Dobbs settled on a two-year, $2.5 million contract, assistant general manager Scott Proefrock announced via press release. Dobbs, 30, hit .301 with nine home runs and 40 RBIs in 128 games last season, batting .355 as a pinch-hitter. His 22 pinch-hits in 2008 led the Major Leagues and set a Phillies single-season record.
