Second baseman Luis Castillo would love to be given a second chance by the Mets. Castillo has three years and $18 million left on his contract, and despite his struggles in 2008, the Mets claim that they will stick with him. He reportedly requested an offseason meeting with the team in which he implored officials not to trade him and also pledged to re-dedicate himself to offseason training to assure he is in top condition next season.
