The Rockies signed righthander Mike DeJean to a one-year contract with a mutual option for 2007. DeJean went 5-4 with a 4.48 ERA in 66 appearances with the Mets and the Rockies in 2005. Released from the Mets on June 20, the 35-year-old was signed by Colorado in early July and paid immediate dividends, going 2-3 with a 3.19 ERA in 38 games. It was the second stint with Colorado for DeJean, who spent his first four years in the major leagues with the club from 1997-2000. A nine-year veteran, DeJean has appeared in 563 career games with the Rockies, Brewers, Cardinals, Orioles and Mets, posting a 29-33 record with a 4.31 ERA and 52 saves.
