Yankees closer Mariano Rivera is reportedly considering off-season surgery on his right shoulder. He did admit, though, that he is available to pitch for the Yankees in their final series of the season against the Red Sox. "Of course I'll pitch," Rivera said. "I will pitch. I have a job to do, even though we are out of the race." Rivera underwent an MRI and was examined by Dr. Chris Ahmad in New York on Thursday, then was examined by Mets team physician David Altchek Friday. The conclusion was that he has calcification on the top of the AC joint of his right shoulder, a condition that could be treated conservatively with cortisone injections or with arthroscopic surgery.
