White Sox slugger Jim Thome homered in the 15th inning on Saturday night to give Chicago a 7-6 win over the Angels and surpass Mickey Mantle on the all-time list, according to Associated Press. Thome hit the 537th home run of his career, breaking a tie with Mantle for 14th place on the home run list. "Those names, they're icon names," Thome said. "It's kind of surreal to be in a group of that many great players. You appreciate it, but you have to move on. We're in a pennant race." The win moved the White Sox 2 1/2 games ahead of the Twins for first place in the AL Central.
