It appears as though Tom Glavine could return to the mound next season after an MRI showed no ligament damage in his injured elbow, according to The Associated Press. Glavine was examined Wednesday by Dr. James Andrews in Alabama. Tests showed that he has a partial tear in the flexor tendon in his left elbow but no ligament damage. That means he will not need Tommy John surgery, something Glavine said would likely end his career. "We'll see what happens afterward," Manager Bobby Cox said Wednesday of Glavine returning next season. "I hope so. Before he got hurt he was pitching lights out."
